Banana White Whiskey Mojito - an easy blended mojito using Jim Beams Jacob's Ghost and fresh bananas

Banana White Whiskey Mojito

Did you know that National Mojito Day was last week? Neither did we.

Thankfully it’s not so far past that I can’t use it as an excuse to (a) drink a lot of mojitos, and (b) purchase a bottle of white whiskey. For those of you who have never had white whiskey, it tastes a lot like bananas in a way that’s similar to Tennessee whiskeys, like Jack Daniel’s and especially Gentleman Jack’s. As far as I’ve tried, they all tend to have that underlying flavor. I’ve also found it prominent in some moonshines and other un-aged grain alcohols, all of which lend themselves to fruit-flavored cocktails like this banana white whiskey mojito.

The other bonus to this drink is that it curbs some of the artificial tasting banana undertones in the white whiskey by using real blended bananas, and without turning to artificial tasting liqueurs like 99 bananas, or DeKuyper banana liqueur, or Malibu banana, or…

Take my word for it. I drink a lot.

If you’re skeptical about the banana and mint combo, or the white whiskey mojito idea in general, know that I was a little cautious about this one initially. Something about bananas and mint together didn’t sit well with me, but then I thought to myself, “If Sarah and I don’t make and drink this huge pitcher of blended mojito, who will?”

And so we made that sacrifice to find out for you.

You’re welcome.

Thankfully it turned out to be startlingly good. It takes on a refreshing minty kick while maintaining its banana flavor. It’s vibrant, flavorful, and delicious.
